"Technical Surveillance" is surveillance conducted by way of covert
audio and video listening and/or recording devices, sometime referred to as "bugs". These devices require
no operator on site; they are left behind or "planted" in your home, your office, your vehicle or even your Hotel
or Motel room. Once in place, these insidious little "bugs" are almost impossible for the average person to
locate and exterminate.
Many times, these bugs are connected to cellular telephones that can "call in" to your home or office,
allowing the user to actually see and hear anything going on near the bug.

Technical Surveillance Counter Measures - or TSCM - is the term used to describe the art of locating "Technical
Surveillance".
The photos on this page depict a particularly insidious
device recently planted in a client's vehicle. This device has a GPS locater with an external antenna, a cell phone
interface with an external antenna, a vehicle speed and direction of travel indicator, and a direct connection to the hands-free
microphone in the Client's vehicle.
To sum it up, the person responsible for planting
this bug was able to track the exact location of the vehicle, then call into the device to hear any conversation going on
inside the vehicle, including both sides of a cellular telephone call.
